Action in the form of runs scored and stolen bases went up, even as the average time of a nine-inning game went way down — sliced by nearly 25 minutes from the previous season. Additional rule tweaks are in store for the 2024 season, as M.L.B. Which is to say: It’s time to bring back bench jockeying. “With social media, our attention is a product for advertisers and marketers.”Jack Latham’s project took him to five click farms in Vietnam. Though it is unclear when click farms began proliferating, tech experts warned about “virtual gang masters” operating them from low-income countries as early as 2007. In the following decades, click farms exploded in number — particularly in Asia, where they can be found across India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, the Philippines and beyond. The photographer added that TikTok is now the most popular platform at the click farms he visited. He included them in the book to represent the kind of content he saw being boosted by click farms.

In today's big story, we're looking at pharma companies' surging stocks and threatening tech darlings thanks to their weight-loss drugs. And it comes despite only 1% of US adults taking weight-loss drugs, according to Bank of America , which predicts that number could rise to 15% by 2035. Weight-loss drugs are also cutting more than just fat. For Wall Street, meanwhile, the equation is much simpler: Getting more people on weight-loss drugs boosts the economy. The trend, which will be powered by cash-rich mega-cap tech companies, is thanks to strong earnings growth, the bank said.

BENGALURU, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Seamer Trent Boult and spinner Mitchell Santner landed timely blows as New Zealand restricted Sri Lanka to 171 all out in their World Cup encounter at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday. A big win for New Zealand will put them in a strong position to bag the last semi-final spot and join India, South Africa and Australia, while Sri Lanka need a victory to boost their chances of a top-eight finish for 2025 Champions Trophy qualification. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson's decision to bowl after winning the toss paid off early as pacemen Boult (3-37) and Tim Southee (1-52) ripped through Sri Lanka's top-order to leave them in trouble at 32-3 inside five overs. A fit-again Lockie Ferguson (2-35) struck in his second over to dismiss the aggressive Perera for 51 as Sri Lanka crumbled to 70-5 before folding in the 47th over for a modest total after Santner (2-22) and Rachin Ravindra (2-21) joined the party. "Looksmaxxing" is the Tiktok trend taking hold among some young men who want to be better-looking. The New York Times wrote about the trend, which has shifted from a friendlier version on Tiktok, where handsome men give basic advice. The story points out that much of the TikTok version of the trend is simply helpful, basic advice, and the target audience is often young teenage men — a demographic that can be hygienically challenged. Calling these basic tips "looksmaxxing" — and treating it like getting "facial gains" — is silly. But this is the first time we're seeing swaths of young men gathering online to talk about it with these meme-y terms like "mogging" (looking hotter than someone else).

24 US law firms wrote to college deans, demanding that they tackle antisemitism on their campuses. The White House warned this week of an "alarming" rise in antisemitism on US college campuses. AdvertisementAdvertisementSome of the US' largest law firms have penned an open letter to law school deans, demanding that they address incidents of antisemitism on their campuses. This follows a call last month by a law professor from the University of California Berkeley who urged law firms not to hire students with antisemitic views. A number of Jewish college students are planning to sue several elite universities, including Cornell and Harvard, over a perceived inaction on antisemitism.

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) — Former UFC champion Francis Ngannou shockingly went the distance in his boxing debut early Sunday morning, even knocking down reigning WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury at one point, but Fury remained undefeated after winning a split decision. Two judges gave Fury the fight by scores of 96-93 and 95-94, and the other judge favored Ngannou 95-94. Good thing for Fury, because Ngannou showed early in the scheduled 10-round fight that he wasn't going anywhere. Needing 19 runs off Mitchell Starc's final over, New Zealand milked 13 runs off the first four legitimate deliveries to keep the heat on Australia. "That was awesome," Australia captain Pat Cummins said after their fourth win in six matches. Glenn Phillips broke the burgeoning stand by taking a return catch to dismiss Warner, but Head raced to a 59-ball century. New Zealand were uncharacteristically sloppy in the field, dropping five catches, with Head the beneficiary on two occasions. At least eight Georgia Republican electors present that day have agreed to testify in exchange for immunity from state charges. The meeting was led by David Shafer, then chairman of the Georgia Republican Party. But halfway through the meeting, Shafer noted that Still’s name was printed as the secretary on documents. Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra smashed rapid unbeaten centuries to set up New Zealand's successful pursuit of a 283-run victory target, which they reached with 13.4 overs to spare. Ravindra's unbeaten 123 off 96 balls, studded with 11 fours and five sixes, earned the 23-year-old player-of-the-match award on his World Cup debut. New Zealand lost Will Young for nought in the first over but Conway, who smashed a career-best 152 not out, and Ravindra turned the heat back on England with their free scoring. Ravindra, who shared unbroken 273-run partnership with Conway, took one delivery fewer to notch up his maiden ODI hundred. New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra achieved that difficult feat with his dream World Cup debut against England on Thursday. Roblox introduced Immersive Ads earlier this year with two initial formats. Image Ads are non-clickable static images that appear within a Roblox experience, while Portal Ads are images with a door that teleport users to other Roblox experiences and games. Roblox developers earn a portion of the revenue generated by Immersive Ads in the form of Robux, Roblox's in-game currency.
